What is Bainbridge Music and Arts?

It is a non-profit volunteer organization with a dual purpose of providing scholarships and entertainment. Since 1934, this organization has been dedicated to keeping the cultural arts vitally alive in our community.
Scholarship Program

  • Each year over 700 students enter competition for our scholarships and awards.
  • We grant over $12,000 to the winners chosen from middle and high school students who reside on Bainbridge Island.
  • The categories include dance, drama, music, creative writing, and art.
  • The winners in creative writing and art receive their awards at the spring awards ceremony at Bainbridge High School.
Donations to the scholarship fund are gratefully accepted.

In early spring a community performance of first place winners in dance, drama and music is held. All are welcome.

How?

Money for the program is raised through membership fees, memorials, private donations and the annual auction for the arts which is held in the fall and benefits four of the major arts groups on the Island.

Membership

Members and guests meet on the third Friday of each month (September-May) in private homes for entertainment and light refreshments.
Entertainers are chosen from previous scholarship winners and other local artists and musicians.
If you would like to attend one of these meetings, please check the listing in the Bainbridge Review for details, or call 842-3958. Membership dues are $25 per year or $150 for a life membership.
