It is a fine sunny day and we gather at the site of the old ferry landing at the end of Taylor Rd. in Eagledale. This is where two hundred and twenty-seven Bainbridge Islanders left these shores sixty years ago today. It is to look at and remember that time that we, as a community are here.

It is to this end that we come together to learn and understand and just perhaps, others in the world will learn from our past as well.
