RESOURCES

Mission

In order to address psychological, spiritual and cultural issues as they pertain to Y2K, and in the spirit of building resilient community, the Inner Resources Action Group educates, inspires, and networks in the following ways:

  • building alliances with local faith groups
  • creating a network of mental health professionals and alternative healthcare providers to come to the aid of people during major community-wide disruptions
  • developing a series of workshops addressing: communication, conflict resolution, stress management, working with fear, personal empowerment and spiritual practice
  • providing a regularly scheduled community forum for discussion of alternative ideas, questioning beliefs, voicing concerns and challenging cultural assumptions
  • maintaining a Speakers Bureau on related topics for neighborhood groups, faith groups, and other interested organizations

The dawning of the new millenium creates new challenges. We believe that when people are psychologically and spiritually centered, and understand the Y2K and other issues from a larger perspective, they will act in ways that foster compassion, tolerance and forgiveness in an effort to build strong connections and a healthier society.

Participation

We welcome anyone who shares our vision and wants to contribute their unique talents toward meeting our goals. We meet twice a month to discuss ideas, plan strategies, and eat cookies.
